Artist Bio
Madeline Bedford (she/they) is a multifaceted artist fueled by the love for a good story. Fully immersed in the world of theatre from a young age, Madeline has an abundance of experience in nearly every element of the art form. It was in earning their Theatre Arts BFA at Point Park University that they fully realized their love for theatrical direction and fight work, a passion they intend to pursue professionally. Approaching every endeavor with excitement and curiosity, Madeline has nearly completed her Senior year of college, grateful for experiences such as directing She Kills Monsters with Bridges Theatre Company and serving as Assistant Fight and Intimacy Director for Almost Equal To with The Pittsburgh Playhouse. Particularly interested in original work, she has also directed for the Raymond Layne Memorial One Acts Festival with The Psychological Pitfalls of the Perpetually Single, in addition to collaborating on original devised piece When The Campfire Dies, and fight directing Macheteland with Pinnacle Produtions. Drawn to themes of queerness, femininity, the human experience, and found family, Madeline loves to sink her teeth into art that leave her wanting more. When not involved in theatrical endeavors, Madeline pursues her passion for storytelling by playing Tabletop Roleplaying Games with her friends.
Artist Statement
Madeline’s mission is to commit fully and enthusiastically to creating art that is bold, exciting, and innovative. She hopes that audiences who see her work are inspired to create art of their own, thinking critically even after the performance is done.
